ESCoRTS is a joint endeavour among EU process industries, utilities, leading manufacturers of control equipment and research institutes to foster progress towards cyber security of control and communication equipment in Europe. This takes the form of a coordination action to face the need for standardisation in this area, indicating standardisation and research directions by means of a dedicated roadmap.

ESCoRTS wants to be a leading force for:

• disseminating best practice on security of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
• hastening and ensuring convergence of SCADA standardisation processes worldwide.
• paving the way to establishing cyber security testing facilities in Europe.

ESCoRTS is a Coordination and Support Action, funded under the Security objective of the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission.
